Was it worth it??

The babies punish me ruthlessly every time I come back from leaving them. So during the few days of chaos and misery when I return, I always ask myself if leaving is worth it... The answer is the same every time -- HECK, YES!

This time was a very quick trip to Austin to meet my very best friends new addition who is the cutest, sweetest, most cuddly baby on the planet!! But maybe I am just biased because she is named after me!

Basically, packed in a day -- a girls lunch, pedicure, eyebrow threading (ouch!), a visit to my quintuplet mom mentor/guru -- Rachelle, then a fun dinner with another dear friend Suzy Q. I always say when I am away from the babies that I am going to get a ton of sleep, but end up getting less than I do at home.

Now -- I have to admit that I am afraid that the terrible two's are starting to invade my home a titch before 2... There are days when I feel overwhelmed and want to just hide under the covers. That's why weekends like this are so important to me -- I can recharge and find my smile when the frenzy starts. I say it all the time, but I am so grateful to my fantastic husband and the incredible support system that I have that allows me to "run away" when I need to.

Happy Easter

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter!!! We did... We were on the tail end of major sickness, so we couldn't go to church, but we did go to my mom and dads for a fabulous meal and quality time with all of my family!!

Sidney, Mitchell, Ivy, Luke, Brie

I am normally the equivalent of Ebeneezer Scrooge at Easter, as I think the Easter Bunny is just creepy. (As Stephen points out, it makes no sense that I believe in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy, but have issues with the Easter Bunny, but it is what it is...) However, we did do an egg hunt with the babies and their cousins... My parents have a huge yard that is perfect for running around and getting dirty, so we hid eggs, put on play shoes and let them loose!! They needed some guiding, but generally grasped the concept. They were really excited once they learned what was inside the eggs. Note to self for future: M&M's in Easter eggs in Texas heat isn't the best idea.
